We have definitely found a new way to incorporate technology into learning and teaching. Some new strategies that we can utilize are using wiki for group assignments, we can use use twitter to advertise a program, and we can create a site that will allow for immediate communication between the teacher and the student.
The web is now a tool for our youth to feel comfortable to learn and to enhance their participation. These two key strategies have proven to be effective by research from Universities, and have proven to instructors that the "new generation of students" is using these types of materials daily. I haven't seen much research on the average number of hours a student utilizes the web daily, but i bet that they are on the web for more hours then they are in the classroom. So, if we can accommodate some students to being productive on the web, then we are beginning to reach out to the various intelligences of students. By reaching out to our students needs we are meeting standards and are teaching students to gain more knowledge.

Linkedin vs. Facebook. I felt that linkedin.com was more of a professional portfolio, instead of Facebook's social network. I can see me using Linkedin.com to present to a future employer because of the information that is inputted throughout your creation of the profile. And Facebook i would use with a buddy that i know.
I was really impressed with linkedin.com abilities to ask appropriate questions for the professional minded. It didn't ask me, where i like to vacation or visit. The site asked me questions that my boss is going to ask, such as where i studies,

I have owned a smartphone for about 2 years, a computer for about 20 years and i can't remember the last time that i was truly impressed with the way i can excell with the new technology. I am really impressed with the new wave of getting information in the palm of your hand. A app that i am using now is the iTranslate, and the Speak It! Text to Speech App. These have been the most helpful because i get to have a translator in my pocket, and i get to now speak to my phone to provide reminders for me. The Speak to text app is awesome. I use it on the baseball field, i use it when I'm giving a sports lesson, and when i am supervising an activity. Its my pen and paper when notes need to be taken down. Its great because when i use the Speak to text app it will automatically be able to be exported as a text file, which i can then use on my computer. I recommend this app to anyone. It is truly handy and doesn't take much time at all.

What i am learning about technology is that it can be a positive use of a learning tool to assist in learning. Also, I am learning how to trust the web. I think the web has a lot to offer and I think its a great tool to assist in learning,  BUT, I do always proceed with caution because as the information grows so does the vulnerability to people who are not as credible as we would like them to be. I care most of how my information is going to affect someone, so I care much on credibility of who is passing out information. 
I look at the list of learning tools and I see competitors to the same "wants". They all want information that you are posting, blogging, or consistently visiting. Its great that a web tool can assist in thinking for you. But, I am not always a big fan of receiving assistance that you are not asking for. I would say that  a person would benefit most from  learning in a challenging yet realistic way, I would recommend students to find their own sources that they can trust. This will provide more knowledge to whom is passing over information. Finding your own info instead of the information being passed over by Web.2.0, should definitely  be much more trustworthiness.

I think that all of these tools are great, but they are so tough to have immediately. I mean, I would rather have it to where i can open my phone and all these productivity tools read my mind. ;) I'm still a little old school. I like to be organized in a way to where i can find something fairly easily. As long as i take the time to stay consistent with my organization, I will be ok with remembering, and being productive with my time. My phone or the internet is a bit different because i have to turn my technology "On" , then log-in, and then find what i needed or what was due. But, for the most part, i have concluded that i must get a little more savy with technology. I am learning that their is a lot to assist in learning, teaching, and research. These tools can improve  

I have found twitter and facebook to be the most beneficial for my field of work right now. When we develop new programs for community members or students, or when we have immediate news on a championship game that our baseball team just won, Twitter and Facebook allows our audience to get that information right away. It was like if they are at the game. Our feedback has been great for this transition of using new technology to get involvement. I will keep incorporating these new waves of technology for updated news, advertising of new events or fundraisers, and for maintaining the awesome reputation of the college.
In the future, i will incorporate podcast into my work field by creating work manuals. I will like for employees to work on a task while hearing directions. This will allow our strongest coordination to follow, which is the hand-an-eye coordination. It has been proven that people have a better intellegience level when they can use their eyes and hands to work, rather than using their eyes first and then their hand.

What do people say when they don't understand if something is working or not? They say "Prove it". Well, my initial thought of podcasting, and using your iphone to help you learn was a little blurr. But, now i see how effective they can be to learning because of the "Proof". Universities and colleges have conducted proper research to prove that by using technology, such as podcasting, youtube, and the web will result in a benefit to learning material, and being able to make it lifelong learning. The key note is that students are communicating in a form that makes it easier, safer, and consistent. When students gain self-confidence in their form of communication; this allows for the teacher- student interaction to be present, which is one of the ways that students are shown to learn material. Teacher to student interaction will allow the student to feel comfortable to ask a question and it will also allow the teacher to assess the progress of learning for the students.

I feel that our web browsing, our internet, will soon become the primary source of learning. I think that it will be the most positive way of becoming a better student. The web allows for students to learn, see, and hear different resources. Resources are the most effective way of learning material from various individuals that are qualified. So, I feel that when we begin to use the net appropriately
